RPAS Pilot Boot Camp Program

$1,699.00 + HST



No college degree or prior experience is required…

The RPAS Boot Camp Program consist of four phases.

Phase 1:

Simulation – An OpenAir supplied RPAS PC-based simulator for use on your own PC – 10 hours home study.

Phase 2:

Practical Flying – An OpenAir supplied RPAS trainer unit and receiver – 10 hours home study.

Phase 3:

RPAS Ground School – OpenAir supplied course materials – 10 hours home study and 8 hours on-site instruction with one of our expert instructors.

RPAS Ground School subjects include the following:

  • Canadian Air Regulations (CARs)
  • Human Factors
  • Principles of Flight
  • Airports & Aerodromes
  • Pilot Decision Making
  • Meteorology
  • Radio Operators Certificate (ROC)


Phase 4:

RPAS Practical Hands-on Flight Training – 16 hours of training is provided by one of our expert flight instructors at our on-site flight training facility.

A log book is supplied for Phases 1, 2, and 3 for the student to document all his/her training hours.

At the end of the program, students will receive the OpenAir RPAS Pilot Boot Camp certificate which will indicate 18 hours of RPAS Ground School, 10 hours of Simulation and 26 hours of RPAS Flight Training for a total of 54 hours of training.
