RPAS PILOT PRACTICAL
Two Levels Available:
Level 1 – 5 Days Duration, 40 Hours Practical Flying Program
Level 2 – 3 Days Duration, 24 Hours Practical Flying Program
During the classroom sessions, we will be covering topics such as checklists, anatomy of a RPAS, motors, propellers, electronic speed controls, charging packs, wireless links, emergency procedures, repairs and maintenance, pilot log book and others. This will provide the students with a solid introductory understanding of a RPAS and its components.
AUDITED FLIGHT SIMULATION EXERCISES include:
Indoor Flying Exercises:
- Setting up the practical flight area
- Pre-flight, post flight
- Initial walk around and start up, CG balance
- Hover, Rolls, Pitch, Pitch and Roll
- Square figure 8 nose out, nose in, nose left, nose right
- Yaw, perform diagonal 45 degrees to left, to right, circles.
Outdoor Flying Exercises:
This is one of the most important aspects of the course. We have units for use from small VTOL Quads to Heavy lift Hexas and fixed wings. No prior experience is required.
The RPAS Pilot Practical Flight Program consists of three phases.
Phase 1: Simulation
10 hours home study with a supplied RPAS PC-based simulation software and receiver. Here you will have access to a variety of RPAS’s with which to practice flying.
Phase 2: Practical Flying
10 hours home study with a supplied OpenAir RPAS trainer and receiver. In phase 2, you will be required to learn how to perform certain flying exercises prior to arriving for the on-site sessions.
Phase 3: RPAS Practical Hands-on Flight Training
40 hours of training is provided by one of our expert flight instructors at our on-site flight school. During this phase, you will learn and practice your flying skills in our indoor and outdoor training areas.
Included in the program price:
- A log book for the student to document all his/her training hours.
- Course Materials, Books and Manuals
